Can I join as a solo-traveler?
Absolutely. The retreat is designed to bring people from different countries together and create a sense of connection and community.
Through shared experiences like yoga, skating, meals and activities, people get to know each other naturally and quickly. You may arrive solo, but you will leave with new friendships from around the world.
Do I need any prior experience in skating or yoga?
No prior experience in either Longboard dancing or Yoga is required. This retreat is specifically beginner-friendly and open to all levels. ​All skate and yoga lessons are guided by professional coaches, with plenty of space to learn at your own pace.

Whether it’s your first time stepping on a board or you already have some experience, you are welcome just as you are. Experienced participants will also receive new challenges and benefit from individual tips and feedback from the coaches.

Please note that all skate and yoga lessons are held in English.
How do I get there?
Puerto Escondido can be reached by plane via Mexico City (MEX) or Oaxaca City (OAX). From there it is a short domestic flight to Puerto Escondido (PMX). If you plan to arrive via Oaxaca City, buses and private transfers are also available.
From Puerto Escondido Airport, you can take a taxi to Barbarenas Eco Retreat in La Punta, which takes around 15-20 minutes and costs around 250 MXN. Taxis are available right outside the airport.

How do I pay?
After your spot is confirmed, you’ll receive payment details via email. Payments are made via international bank transfers (Wise) and can be completed in your local currency. Prices are displayed and processed in Euros.
What do I pack?
You don’t need to bring much – we will take care of most things. You will need:

Comfortable clothes for skating and yoga

Sneakers or flat shoes, suitable for skating

Any personal medication
All equipment for Longboard dancing & freestyle (Boards and protective gear) and Yoga (mats and props) will be provided by the retreat.
Mixed gender rooms, how does that work?
We aim to offer same-gender rooms whenever possible. Depending on bookings and availability, mixed rooms may be necessary. If you have a strong preference or concern regarding room sharing, please let us know in advance. We will do our best to accommodate individual needs and ensure that everyone feels comfortable and safe.

How should I plan my arrival and departure to not miss any activities?
Check-in is from 3:00 PM on arrival day. If you arrive earlier, you are welcome to store your luggage and relax in the common area or explore the nearby beach and village. The first Yoga session will be at 5:00 PM. The retreat officially begins after our first dinner at 8:00 PM with an opening circle.
On the final day, the last yoga session takes place at 7:00 AM, followed by breakfast at 8:00 AM. We kindly ask all guests to check-out by 12:00 PM and plan their departure accordingly.
Can I skip lessons or activities or join only part time?
Participation in all lessons and activities is completely optional. This retreat is for you – this is your time, your pace, your holiday.
As this is an all-inclusive retreat, we are unfortunately unable to offer price reductions if you choose to skip individual lessons or activities that are included in the package. The retreat dates are fixed and it’s not possible to join and pay only partially.
Is Mexico safe to travel to?
Skate & Flow cannot make guarantees regarding safety conditions in Mexico. We recommend checking the official travel advisories issued by your country before planning your trip.
That said, we are happy to report that Oaxaca is considered one of the relatively safe regions in Mexico and that it is a popular destination for travelers from all around the world. The area is known for its welcoming culture, vibrant community, and relaxed atmosphere.
Can I get a refund in case of cancellation?
